PRESS: Freight One to sell entire oil tank fleet to Brunswick Rail

MOSCOW, Jan 21 (PRIME) -- Russian railway cargo operator Freight One, part of Fletcher Group of tycoon Vladimir Lisin, is selling 13,000 oil tanks to freight car leasing company Brunswick Rail, the sum of the deal may amount to around 19 billion rubles, Kommersant business daily reported on Tuesday citing market sources.

After the deal, Freight One will leave the oil segment of the freight transportation market, the daily said.

Brunswick Rail confirmed the fact of the transaction without disclosing the value and terms.

“The acquisition of 13,000 tanks greatly changes the structure of Brunswick Rail’s fleet. Before the deal, the company had only 4,000 tanks, however, quite new ones. The total fleet of the company is around 28,000 cars,” Kommersant said.

A market source believes that the fleet will be so far leased by the buyer to Freight One, which will continue to fulfill contracts.
